All about hats
My latest obsession, well that’s not quite right as I’ve always been a hat gal, but it’s come to a bit of a head of late, is hats.

I’ve started a millinery course at FIT, here in New York and I’ve just made my second hat - a prohibition style fedora for my man. We’re starting at the beginning with the basic skills of hat making, blocking and constructing traditional hats by hand, I love it.
My mind is starting to roam over all the possibilities, to think about design and form and so I’ve been browsing the internet in search of inspiration.

Now with the lack of space in our Brooklyn railroad apartment I won’t be creating any elaborate mood boards so I thought this is the perfect place for me to gather those images, so for a while you are going to be seeing a lot of hats on my blog.

The obvious place to start of course was Philip Treacy - Millinery’s only celebrity I think? Who can name another milliner? So the images I’ve collected here are all by that rock start of hat makers - inspiring or what?
